David Shaw writes, ‘The entries in the book all follow a formula: a
literary quotation (Latin, Greek, Hebrew, Arabic, French, Italian, English ...), a
greeting with the name of the friend, and (importantly) the date and
place where the entry was written’ |
|
|
|
|
|
There follows the tabulation of the chronological dates of entry and
the location, (c) David Shaw |

*'Thott-8-557 has two separate sections. There is the last page of an
incomplete index to the first half on page 128 (image 138). Page 129
starts a new inserted section on slightly larger paper with an index
on pages 275-282 covering the entire volume. The pagination seems to
be written by Forsskål as it is used in the index. There are errors
(or possibly missing pages)' (David Shaw) |
